倫敦大學學院英國文學講師。倫敦大學伯貝克學院博士。曾在牛津大學博德利圖書館擔任博士後研究員，亦曾獲劍橋大學圖書館參考書項目的蒙比榮譽會員（Munby Fellow）。學術文章經常刊登在重要報章雜誌上，定期撰寫圖書歷史的評論，並為《泰晤士報文學增刊》翻譯作品、為書評網站撰稿，同時偶爾在第三廣播電臺上主持閱讀歷史系列節目。
