已經有十本著作，其中包括《自然的終結》（The End of Nature）、《遺漏資訊的時代》（The Age of Missing Information），與《在機械化時代保持人性》（Enough: Staying Human in an Engineered Age） 。他是《紐約客》（The New Yorker）雜誌前撰述委員，目前定期幫《哈潑》（Harper's）、《大西洋月刊》（The Atlantic Monthly）與《紐約書評》（The New York Review of Books）等刊物寫專欄。他是米德伯瑞學院的學者，目前和同為作家的妻子蘇．海爾波恩（Sue Halpern）以及女兒定居於美國佛蒙特州。
