美國賓州艾倫鎮穆倫堡學院（Muhlenberg College）杜魯門．柯勒數學教授（Truman Koehler Professor of Mathematics）。
1993年獲得美國數學協會（Mathematical Association of America）喬治．波利亞（George Polya）數學獎，表彰他撰寫數學評註的出色表現。他還榮獲美國國家人文基金會贊助。
